Dublin City Weddings - My Ultimate Favourite!
I said I didn’t have favourites but I am partial to Dublin city Weddings!
In Dublin's Fair City, where the couples are so pretty! - Sorry, had to.
Dublin City Weddings are some of my absolute favourites to capture! The vibe is usually relaxed and the style is often incredible. There's nothing quite like walking through the streets of Dublin to sounds of Congratulations and other sometimes colourful hecklings! There is character everywhere and the city lends itself to ideal backdrops for smaller, more intimate celebrations.
I have been incredibly lucky to have shot so many gorgeous weddings in my home City, there's just something about having your wedding in the City that is very special and lends itself to a completely different vibe to any other type of venue.
Some amazing venues to chose from!
Some stand out venues for me include Dublin City Hall, Smock Alley, Fallon & Byrne, The National Art Gallery, Stephen's Green Hibernian, Trinity and any unique venues that I have captured small weddings in! (We ourselves got married in Peruke & Periwig!) There are endless possibilities and you're only limited by your imagination (and maybe your budget!)
The nitty-gritty! How do I shoot Dublin City Weddings?
I often shoot 2 and 3-hour weddings in Dublin which consists of coverage of the ceremony, formal and candid portraits after. If this sounds good to you, get in touch and I'll send you my special Dublin City package!
Favourite venues - Ballymagarvey Village
Ballymagarvey is without a doubt one of the most beautiful spots for a wedding in Ireland!
Ballymagarvey Village - What a venue!
Up this week on my list of great venues I've shot in is Ballymagarvey Village in Meath!
Ballymagarvey is probably one of the most popular venues I have shot in and it never disappoints! Around every corner, there is another fab spot for photo opportunities. I love that the banquet hall changes with the seasons and there have been many beautiful additions since I shot my first wedding there several years ago.
Three cheers for the staff!
The staff are always a pleasure to work with and the food is fantastic (yes, I always have food on the brain) It's a very popular venue and it's easy to see why! They put so much thought and effort into each and every wedding, it's clear each time I'm there to shoot how much they care for the couple!
Location, Location, Location...
There are just so many places to shoot in Ballymagarvey, you have a vast swathe of locales on site to take your couple portraits. There are the gardens just in front of the ceremony room with a gorgeous deck area to walk out to for some quiet, intimate moments together. You have the front of the beautiful house with the stunning chandelier tree at the front of the driveway. I tell you, when the tree is lit at night, it is just exceptional for a night-time portrait!
No matter where you have your portraits taken, Ballymagarvey Village (and me!) will have the perfect spot for you!
Below are some highlights from shooting many weddings there ;) Enjoy, and remember, if you or anyone you know is getting married in Ballymagarvey, get in touch!
Favourite Venues - Clonabreany House
Clonabreany has to be in my top 5 venues to shoot!
New week, new blog. This time about Clonabreany House!
Following on from last weeks blog of the Millhouse, we've come to Clonabreany House. I'm a big, big fan of Clonbreany. It's warm, inviting and really cosy. There's a lot of amazing potential spots for photos, both inside and out! As another private venue, you'll have the place to yourselves which is always a big plus!
I've been lucky to shoot there several times in a range of seasons and it's always been a pleasure! From the heaviest rain to the brightest shine of the sun, Clonabreany will always look magical!

Favourite Venues - The Millhouse
There are many venues I love to shoot in and the Millhouse is definitely one of my top 5!
I often get asked what my favourite venue to shoot in is so I thought I’d do up some blogs on the matter! I will discuss my Favourite Venues. Starting with The Millhouse!
So in no particular order (no favourites here and no sponsorship ;). First up is the fabulous Millhouse in Slane, Co. Meath.
It must be love...love, love!
I have a lot of love for The Millhouse, for lots of reasons. Having first shot there back in 2012, it has evolved a lot since then but one thing has been consistent, and that’s the staff! Both myself & Tom always get a warm welcome when we arrive here. Tina, Aidan and the lads do a brilliant job hosting and taking care of everyone.
I have shot many weddings here in all weathers and seasons and I love it here because no matter what the weather, you have so much space to get the shots you need. The space in the Mill for the ceremony is gorgeous and what I love about the venue is that you seem to have the freedom to personalise it how you wish. This is reflected in the countless couples I’ve shot there. They’ve all put their own personal stamp on their wedding which is ideal!
The Light! The lovely gorgeous, natural light!
The bridal prep room and recent bridal suite addition that sits behind the mill are incredibly spacious with lots of gorgeous natural light, ideal for photography ;)
There's an abundance of places to take photographs and I always enjoy coming to The Millhouse to see what's new and improved!
As a guest of a wedding here also in the past, I can attest to having a great time!
So, if you are interested or know anyone who is getting married in the Millhouse in 2020 and need a photographer, get in touch!
C & J - Love in the Forests of Aughrim!
Love in the woods in Aughrim!
Who doesn't love a woodland stroll?
We LOVE Aughrim and the walks in this area area, and when Craig & Joe said to us they were available, we HAD to get them down to us for a woodland stroll of their own!
When you see Craig & Joe and how they are together, you get a feeling of warmth and innate calmness. They are such a cute couple and they radiate a love that's very hard to ignore.
"Love isn't something you find. Love is something that finds you." - Loretta Young
Their love for one another radiates outward for all to see and it was a great pleasure to have them down with us!
December Wedding plans!
We absolutely cannot be more happy that these two found each other, and cannot wait to shoot their wedding next year!
They've chosen the gorgeous Bellinter House as their venue for what promises to be a gorgeous Winter wedding in December!
If you're looking for a relaxed and easy to work with photography team, then get in touch! We'd love to hear from you about your day!
